Chiara is a licensed clinical social worker with over 15
years experience and commitment to the field of mental health. She received a Masters degree in Clinical Socialwork from Smith College School for Social Work, where she was elected to speak during commencement excercises. Her work consists of a blend of psychodynamic and relational therapy, cognitive and behavioral techniques, addiction models and mind/body/spirit theories. Chiara creates a treatment plan together with the client to address the specific individual needs and goals of each client.
Throughout her career Chiara has worked in a variety of settings including residential centers, outpatient clinics, private practice settings, hospitals, and non profit agencies. She has worked with a wide range of populations from homeless, indigent communities through agencies such as the Iris Center in San Francisco, to creating and running the outpatient eating disorder program at South San Francisco Kaiser Hospital where she also worked as a regional representative for the eating disorder task group. She has been training and supervising pre and post graduate interns since 1996.
Currently Chiara works in private practice where she also supervises Iris Lopez, MFTI Intern, a Marriage and Family Therapist Intern.
